How to not give up and stay motivated
When it comes to studying and your career, motivation plays a great role. Just how motivated you are would affect the amount of hard work that you put in. Sometimes, you lose sight of the bigger picture and that makes you sloppy in your work until your motivation works its magic.
Forms of motivation
It can be in any form. It is possible to look at your parents’ success and get motivated to follow in their footsteps, while on the other hand, it maybe their failures that motivate you to do better than your parents in life. It can be personal or professional.
You can get motivated by failing in one subject at school. You may feel like proving that you can do better in that particular subject. But most people get de-motivated when they get bad marks. They give up because they think they’ve put in their best efforts already and they can’t do any better.
That’s where you can go wrong
If you did your best and still didn’t succeed, giving up in no way helps you perform better. Only working harder can help. If you can’t seem to get yourself to study, set a goal. Or imagine what you’ll gain if you put in some hard work. Then strive to achieve that goal. Keep yourself motivated by rewarding yourself every time you succeed even in a very small endeavor.
Next time in life, when you feel like everything is going wrong for you, take all the negative emotions and channel them into your work. You will do your best when you’re motivated so strongly; and once in a while, stop and give yourself a pat on the back for achieving all you’ve achieved in the past.
